The Barkers Function Centre offered a fantastic setting for our wedding. The surrounding grounds are well established and there is a wonderful flow between the buildings and the grounds. The shade of the large oak trees and view of Mt Te Aroha creates a great atmosphere and was one we enjoyed while having pre-dinner drinks. With its close proximity to the Waihou Historic Church, the Barkers Function Centre is in a great location and easy to find for out-of-town guests. Murray and Sally Barker were extremely helpful and friendly which made the planning and setting up of the venue very easy and fuss-free. Many of our guests commented on the venue and we have no hesitation is recommending the Barkers Function Centre to others.

We are writing to recommend your facility to anyone who is planning to get married. We were delighted with the park like setting, modern reception room and the helpful and friendly service at the Barker Function Centre. We had the most magnificent day and have received lots of positive feedback from guests that had come from near and far to spend our special day with us. Guests also commented on the magical feeling of the reception, from the voile draping from the ceiling and walls to fairy lights that lit up as the sun went down.
By being able to choose our own caterers and florist we could have our wedding reception to our taste and budget. We added a personalised touch with our own table decorations and wedding favours that complemented our individual style and the existing surroundings.
We had our dream wedding and would recommend to any bride or groom to be, who have always dreamed of a fairytale wedding in magical surroundings and a stress free environment to have their wedding at the Barkers Function Centre.

This venue was the perfect setting for our April wedding. The interior drapes created a magical feel and the expansive and pristine grounds under the old oak trees made for the most beautiful wedding photos. The venues accommodation was wonderful for our overseas guests, giving them both privacy and a chance to be there for all the pre wedding preparations. The grounds came alive at night with the lights illuminating the large trees. All this made for a special perfect day, we wouldn’t change a thing.
